The bust of Pushkin stands in Nizhny Novgorod, at the main entrance to the Opera Theatre.
The project's authors are sculptor and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation T.G. Kholueva and architect A. Ulanovsky.
The monument was unveiled in 1995.
History
On February 10, 1937, the Nizhny Novgorod Opera and Ballet Theatre was named after Pushkin. Since 1986, the theatre has hosted an annual opera and ballet festival called "Boldino Autumn." In 1994, it was decided to place a bust of A.S. Pushkin at the theatre's main entrance. The funds needed to create the monument were donated by Nizhny Novgorod residents.
Description of the monument
A bronze bust of A.S. Pushkin stands on a granite pedestal. The poet is depicted in a moment of creative inspiration. His lyrical image is accentuated by his attire — a cloak and a scarf billowing in the wind.
