bunet.net — the address of a website belonging to the non-state educational institution "Binet" (NOU "Binet"), which was listed in the Nizhny Novgorod site directory nn.ru. According to the web archive index, the address is traceable from September 12, 2002 to September 20, 2024, with 24 records in the index in total. The text, however, survives in only two snapshots, and both belong to the late, already Turkish, content. At the time of our survey the domain did not exist.

What is known about the center

None of the Russian pages of "Binet" itself appear in our sample: not a single snapshot with Russian text at this address has survived. All that is known about the content of the resource is the directory card in nn.ru — that is, the description that the resource owners gave themselves: "Certified Microsoft Partner. Offerings for the development and implementation of information systems. Analytical information. Professional training courses for users and IT specialists. Conducting technical seminars and trainings." Neither a postal address, nor a phone number, nor the names of instructors, nor course prices are present in the surviving materials.

In the same directory sample the site is recorded with a rating of 16 and zero votes. What exactly this figure meant — traffic, a position within its category, or some other number — cannot be established from our data, so we do not venture to judge "Binet"'s place in the Nizhny Novgorod Internet from it. No other traces of the resource, apart from the directory card, remain in our sample.

The Turkish fate of the address

Both surviving snapshots catch the domain already in other hands. On May 17, 2014, the address hosted a placeholder page from the Turkish domain registrar and hosting company IsimTescil.NET: "Sitemiz yapım aşamasındadır..." — "our site is under construction," asking visitors to check back later, with a note that domain registration and hosting were handled by IsimTescil.NET[1].

By January 9, 2016, the domain hosted the website of the Turkish payment company EXPRES ÖDEME KURULUŞU A.Ş. under the brand "Pratik Nokta" — a round-the-clock wholesale-retail platform for mobile phone top-ups and bill payment acceptance, with sections "ANA SAYFA," "KURUMSAL," "HİZMETLER," "POS TERMİNAL," "BAYİLİK BAŞVURU," "İLETİŞİM" and the phone number 533 748 28 34. At the bottom of the page ran the line "Copyright © 1987 - 2012 BuNet.Net": the new owners used the domain name as their own brand. Not a single Russian word and not a single mention of Nizhny Novgorod appears on these pages[2].

When "Binet" itself closed and what became of the institution, the surviving materials do not show: between the first web archive record of 2002 and the Turkish placeholder of 2014, we have not a single snapshot with the site's content.
