Borskiy stekolnyy Plant (BSZ) is an industrial enterprise located in the city of Bor, Nizhny Novgorod Region. It ranks among Russia's major glass manufacturers; as of the mid-1990s it operated as an open joint-stock company.
Leadership and Management
Since 1996, the General Director of JSC Borskiy stekolnyy Plant has been Valeriy Viktorovich Tarbeev — Doctor of Technical Sciences and Honored Builder of the Russian Federation. Among the plant's employees and managers mentioned at various times are: Nikolay Anisimovich Polyakov, who served as shop foreman and secretary of the party committee,[4] and Evgeniy Viktorovich Lebedev — winner of the Russian competition "Manager of the Year — 2005" in the "Transport" category.[3]
Ties with Education and Research
Borskiy stekolnyy Plant was among the enterprises for which Nizhny Novgorod scholar Aleksandr Petrovich Egorshin trained specialists and oversaw the transition to new economic management conditions. Together with ZMZ and GAZ, the plant is cited as one of the major organizations covered by this work.[2]
Public Life
The plant employed Olga Konstantinovna Gorshkova — a painter (malirovshchitsa), who was subsequently elected a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR (1985).[1] The plant is mentioned among the most sought-after topics in the Nizhny Novgorod city encyclopedia.
