biofit.ru is the site of the Nizhny Novgorod closed joint-stock company "Biofit" (ЗАО «Биофит»), a producer of dietary supplements, vitamin tea drinks and dried plant raw materials. Contact details listed on the home page: 603157, Nizhny Novgorod, 33/59A Genkina Street; phone numbers (831) 4335662 and 4343667 for the industrial market, (831) 4212048 for the consumer market; the email address biofit@gummi.nnov.ru on a Nizhny Novgorod domain[2]. The earliest surviving snapshot of the home page is dated 23 June 2004[1], and the last one we collected is from 11 July 2025, though by that time the domain no longer hosted the company's corporate site[5].

The 2004 placeholder

In the year the site was entered into the competition, it was not yet functioning. On 23 June 2004 the home page carried a single line: as the home page put it, "We apologize, the site is under construction," with the signature "SOLARIS, 2004" below it. The page title, however, already described the subject in full: "ZAO Biofit, biologically active dietary supplements and specialized food products"[1].

What the company site looked like

By the 15 May 2011 snapshot the site had been built out but was no longer being updated: the most recent news item on the home page was dated 7 July 2009, and the footer read "Copyright (c) 2009 ZAO Biofit"[2]. The menu consisted of the sections "Products" (split into "For consumers" and "For food producers"), "Manufacturing services", "Our awards", "News" and "Useful links"; the site also ran a "Questions and answers" section[2]. The company's awards predated the site by a long way: in December 1999 ZAO Biofit received a gold medal and diploma at the world salon of inventions, scientific research and industrial innovation "Brussels Eureka '99" for its "Food module composition," which used cryo-powders made from vegetable, fruit, berry and melon raw materials produced under the company's own proprietary technology[8].

The greeting opened with the words: as the home page put it, "The BIOFIT scientific and production company welcomes you to its official website!" The company's activity was split into two lines of business. The consumer market: development, production and sale of nutritional bio-correctors, dietary supplements, vitamin tea drinks, preventive-health products and cosmetics made from natural plant raw materials, as well as supplying wellness products to medical and fitness centers, health shops and sanatoriums. The industrial market: production of finely dispersed powders and crushed products from vegetables, berries, fruit, greens and grains for the food, spirits and pharmaceutical industries, supply of dried plant raw materials, production of plant extracts, drying and grinding on its own equipment, and certification services[2][8]. As the home page put it, the company had fifteen years of experience in the market for preventive-health products and plant raw materials, and its core operating principle was formulated as "Caring for the nation's health"[2].

The home page showcase featured two products: "Lyubimy" ("Beloved"), promising to raise the body's resistance and help prevent liver disease, and "Chernika Krio" ("Bilberry Cryo"), for improving eyesight and protecting the retina[2]. The 2009 news column reported that in 2008 ZAO Biofit had joined the holding of the production association ZAO PO "Gummi," that a wholesale-and-retail store of the dealer "Biofit-M" had opened in Moscow, and that the company was answering consumer questions about changes to its branding and product composition[2].

A place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet

The site took part in the 2004 Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day competition in the "Best corporate site" category under entry number 130 and scored 8 in the final table — thirtieth place among ninety-seven entrants in the category, while the category leader, the site "Aprel Servis," scored 159[6]. The site does not appear in the surviving samples of the Counter.nn.ru counter, so its traffic cannot be judged; more on the sample itself is in the Archival study of the Nizhny Novgorod internet from the counter.nn.ru rating.

The fate of the address

By the 16 November 2018 snapshot, a different project already occupied the biofit.ru address — a compendium of articles on pharmacology and dietary supplements, with sections "Biotechnology," "Drug development," "Clinical trials," "History of medicine," "Drug catalog," and "Attention! Counterfeit," complete with a login form, "Add article," "Blog" and "About the project" links, and the footer credit "Site creation and promotion by SeoUA"[3]. The name "Biofit" remained in the page title, and the menu items "Company," "Dietary supplements," "Questions," "Contacts" survived from the former corporate site; a Nizhny Novgorod trace lingered only in the pharmacy news feed, which mentioned the "Farmkomplekt-apteka" chain and the "Farmassotsiatsiya" group of companies[3].

The same article compendium still occupied the domain on 2 March 2022 and on 11 July 2025 — only the selection of headlines in the columns changed[4][5]. A domain-availability check in 2025 returned a page from the domain registrar "Reg.ru" offering biofit.ru for sale[7]. As of a check in August 2026, the site at this address was responding. In the history of the Nizhny Novgorod Internet, biofit.ru remains a case where a corporate page outlived its own content, and where the address's fate kept changing afterward.
