autograff.narod.ru ("AutoGraffiti") was a one-page site by a Nizhny Novgorod artist-designer offering to paint cars and other objects using airbrushing, which the page called "auto tattooing." A contact phone number was labeled "(N.Novgorod)," with a name next to it — Ivan Smolkov[1]. The site is known from web-archive snapshots dating back to February 2003[4].

What the site offered

The entire offer fit on a single page hosted on the free hosting service narod.ru. The text opened with the greeting "Good time of day, dear [visitors]" and stated that the artist-designer offered "auto-tattoo (airbrushing) services in any direction of visual art"[1]. The list of items they took on was pointedly broad: motorcycles and motorcycle helmets, cars, including trucks and buses, household refrigerators, furniture, and, as the page put it, "any other object to which you want to give individuality"[1]. A separate line carried the single technical promise: "All work is done without the use of stencils"[1].

Contacts amounted to a mobile number with a city note and the craftsman's name, plus a "Write to the artist" link with an email on the same narod.ru[1]. The preserved text contains no workshop address, price list, or order form. At the bottom of the page was the signature "CbIP 2003"[1].

Instead of a portfolio, the top of the page carried an "Articles and reviews" block with three lines: "Inomarka," No. 27; "Inomarka," No. 43-44; "Auto Trader," UAE[1]. The page did not explain what these publications were. The preserved text of the snapshots contains no gallery of work, no guestbook, and no visit counter.

Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet

"AutoGraffiti" is an example of the most common part of the local network: a one-page calling card of a private craftsman on a free public hosting service, living off directory listings and search. The site entered our survey through the nn.ru directory's category listing; it does not appear in the surviving samples of the Counter.nn.ru rating. Fate of the address

The web archive captured the page 36 times: the first snapshot was made on 15 February 2003, the last in early October 2022[4]. What was on the page during the first decade and a half is not visible from the snapshots available to us, but in recent years it stood untouched: the texts of the snapshots from July 2019, March 2022, and October 2022 match word for word, down to the "CbIP 2003" signature at the bottom[1][2][3]. When checked in August 2026, the site at this address was responding.
