Aleksandr Lavrov is an "atypical" Nizhny Novgorod painter who makes the flat world three-dimensional and vice versa.
Biography
Born on April 12, 1962, in the selo of Dalnee Konstantinovo. In 1979 he graduated from the Gorky Art School. He has exhibited professionally since 1986.
Aleksandr Lavrov worked in graphics and in the techniques of grisaille and full-color oil painting. He is the creator of numerous pop-art projects: "Elvis's Bunnies," "Tattoos and Jewelry," the "Televisions" project, "Russian Cars," "Library"…
Noteworthy Activities
He is one of four co-founders of the art gallery "Kladovka," created specifically for all other "atypical" Nizhny Novgorod artists. "Kladovka" is a working handmade-goods shop, as well as an organizer of poetry and music evenings, contemporary art exhibitions, literary readings, master classes, and much else of interest.
