Sokolov Aleksandr Aleksandrovich (born June 13, 1930) — Chairman of the Board of Directors of OAO "Khlebkombinat Pechersky," laureate of the USSR Council of Ministers Prize. From 1967 to 1974, he served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Gorky City Soviet of People's Deputies. From 1974 to 1986, he was First Secretary of the Gorky City Committee of the CPSU. From 1986 to 1991, he served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Regional Soviet of People's Deputies. In 1991, he was elected Chairman of the Regional Soviet of People's Deputies.
Achievements
He was awarded the Order of the October Revolution and four Orders of the Red Banner of Labour.
The title "Honorary Citizen of the City of Nizhny Novgorod" was conferred by resolution of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma on June 17, 1998, No. 35.
