03.nn.ru was a Nizhny Novgorod medical website of the turn of the 1990s–2000s, active, by our data, from 1998 to 2001. Its address echoed the ambulance service phone number and sat in the Nizhny Novgorod nn.ru domain zone; the surviving home page is signed "©1998-2000 Medical Information Agency. All Rights Reserved. Nizhny Novgorod, Russia"[1]. The Nizhny Novgorod tie is also visible in the text: "WE are always ready to cooperate with all medical and other enterprises and organizations, collectives, associations and citizens in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia and abroad," the home page stated[1]. In the rubricator of the nn.ru catalog, from which the domain made it into our Archival study of the Nizhny Novgorod internet from the counter.nn.ru rating, the site is named "Nizhny Novgorod Ambulance Service" and described as covering the activity of the Nizhny Novgorod Ambulance and Emergency Medical Care Station; the only screenshot with legible text, however, is almost entirely taken up by materials from the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Medical Association (NRMA)[1].

What the home page looked like

The top of the page held a block reading "N E W S — daily" with dated announcements, below which were clocks: "Today," "Nizhny Novgorod time," "Last update." A separate line carried a link reading "L I N K S to ALL medical resources"[1]. To the right were "Our friends' buttons" and an offer to exchange banners: "Want to swap buttons? send them over," alongside "our button." The page text twice carries the label of a banner slot, "NNBN 100x100," and at the bottom stood a "Total visits" counter[1]. The page closed with a technical credit: "Design, support — Design Group 'AS'" with the email address AS@gssmp.sci-nnov.ru[1].

What the site offered

The main content was schedules and addresses of NRMA health centers. On 1 December 2000 the site announced the opening of a new center "at 3 Sovetskaya Square, 4th floor, room 409 (Univerbyt building, entrance from the market side)," open Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00. The Kanavinsky health center was located at 20/2 Vokzalnaya Street, the Sormovsky one at 11 Vasenko Street, in clinic No. 1[1]. The centers ran free classes: a school for young parents called "CHUDO-CHADO" (Miracle Child), a diabetes school, an asthma school for patients with bronchial asthma and allergies, a school for patients with arterial hypertension, and the "ERL School"; for the second half of 2000 the opening of ten coronary heart disease schools was planned at clinics across the city and region[1].

The events plan on the page was laid out with the names of those responsible and six-digit Nizhny Novgorod phone numbers — 77-68-33, 77-68-47, 33-74-72, 23-12-91, 36-19-24, 65-63-11, 22-84-95. It included "Diabetes Days in Nizhny Novgorod" (13–18 November 2000), the 5th All-Russian Conference on Arterial Hypertension (4–9 December), and the 3rd regional exhibition "Medicine for All" at the Medical Workers' House of Culture (19–23 December)[1]. The site also advertised its own periodicals: the weekly medical newspaper "Doktor FOM" with a monthly supplement "Doktor FOM Plus," the bulletin "Vita Service," and a newspaper for young parents, "Chudo-Chado!," which readers were invited to look for "at Rospechat kiosks, women's clinics, and NRMA centers"[1]. Together with the radio station "Radio Retro" 105.9 FM it ran a program called "Style of Life" — on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:55[1]. A separate announcement dated 1 June 2000 read: "Opening of the first medical online shop in Nizhny Novgorod. Sale of dietary supplements and medical literature at affordable prices," the home page reported[1].

The news column covered the city and the region: the launch of the municipal target program "Healthy Child," Olympic champions in rhythmic gymnastics taking patronage of the Nizhny Novgorod program "Sport Against Drugs," and humanitarian aid for disabled residents from the sister city of Essen. It also carried an order from Nizhny Novgorod's first deputy mayor S. V. Abyshev on a working group tasked with identifying medical facilities to house a Nizhny Novgorod city ambulance and emergency care hospital, and a report on the first batch of hepatitis vaccines purchased by the Vishnevskaya-Rostropovich Foundation for children of Nizhny Novgorod Region[1].

Place in the Nizhny Novgorod internet

Within the Nizhny Novgorod Internet, the site kept a low profile. A visit counter stood at the bottom of the page, but in the surviving Counter.nn.ru samples the domain 03.nn.ru does not appear, and no rating positions or points are recorded in our data. The domain is likewise absent from the results table of the Nizhny Novgorod Internet Day 2004 vote[3] — by then the site had already stopped updating. Its audience came from offline: newspapers, the radio program, and the schools run at the NRMA centers, whose schedules the page served.

How it closed

The latest date among the announcements on the surviving page is 5 December 2000, and the copyright line at the bottom stops at 2000, though the screenshot itself was taken on 4 February 2001[1]: the site stopped updating before it disappeared. The last home page snapshot in the web archive is dated 1 April 2001[2], and the web archive records only three visits to this address in total. As of our check, the domain 03.nn.ru does not respond today.
